- Are you one of those people who can’t stand taking off a bandaid? Try soaking it in vodka first. The alcohol will apparently destroy the solvent, making it a painless removal - heck, sounds like it might just fall off.

- Abercrombie & Fitch paid for Columbus, Ohio’s Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s new emergency room; now, BusinessWeek is reporting on an advocacy group saying that the emergency room shouldn’t be named after them due to the images of A&F’s campaigns:

Clothing retailer Abercrombie & Fitch relies on racy, provocative marketing campaigns aimed at teenagers and should not be allowed to put its name on the new emergency room of a children’s hospital, an advocacy group said Tuesday.

Research has shown a link between sexualized images of teens in the media and mental health problems in girls, including eating disorders, low self-esteem, anxiety and depression, according to the Boston-based Campaign for a Commercial-Free Childhood.

Abercrombie has pledged $10 million toward the construction of the emergency department at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.

- Cnet covers cheap HDMI cables; result: they’re just as good as expensive ones. Surprise! … Oh, wait. No one’s surprised. That’s right.

- Some researchers may have discovered the secret behind digit growth. This has implications for people with stubby or missing fingers and toes, in that they might be able to grow brand new ones. Pretty sweet.

- In light of the new double-platform release of Space Invaders Extreme, as well as the upcoming Wii strategy game Space Invaders Get Even, io9 has a triviagasm about the Space Invaders. Did you know that the game was so popular in Japan that it caused a major shortage of coins, and they had to quadruple yen production to keep up with the demand? I didn’t either, until I read this article.

- A leaked copy of Famitsu reveals a new Street Fighter IV character (a luchador named El Fuerte), as well as a new Soulcalibur IV character (a girl named Scheherazade) and a first look at SCIV’s Maxi. Good times all around, if you’re into big-name fighting games.

- And, good news I’m sure for those of you who liked BioShock, BioShock 2 has officially been announced. Yay? Apparently it’s a prequel to everyone’s favorite objectivist-theory-laden story-driven shooter under the sea.
