Forwards from Phil: Mar. 11, 2008
March 11th, 2008 by PhilSlow news day today, really. How do you keep yourself entertained at work? Besides, you know, working.
- First off, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CHUCK NORRIS!
- I sort of get two offbrand ‘my El Scorchos’: Rock Band DLC this week includes Black Tide’s “Shockwave,” Paramore’s “Crushcrushcrush” (it’s no “Misery Business” but it sounds just like it, so it’ll do), and Serj Tankian’s “Beethoven’s C***” (it’s no System of a Down, but it sounds just like it, so it’ll do).
- Did you know Kentucky lawmaker Tim Couch wants to make anonymous internet posting illegal? Ars Technica has a good deal of coverage on why it’s doomed to fail. Of course, Couch is well aware it’s doomed to fail, and wants to draw attention to internet bullying; fact is, most of the people in a position to do anything about internet bullying already know about it.
- Oh, and Eliot Spitzer, who took GTA to task for allowing you to simulate (poorly) sex with a prostitute, apparently doesn’t mind the real thing himself Mmm, delicious hypocrisy.

Just to clarify - that is NOT the samw Tim Couch from Hyden that played football for UK. Yes, there are two Tim Couches from Hyden. Just clearing that up.

Yep, that’s why I prefaced it with ‘lawmaker’ Tim Couch… but seriously, what the hell are the odds of there being two Tim Couches from Hyden? I mean, /Hyden/? That’s not an accident. It can’t be.

I just want to comment that I read this and IMMEDIATELY assumed it was the same Tim Couch who played football for UK. Glad to hear it’s not. Of course, the lawmaker Tim Couch has a job. So, I’m sure football Tim Couch would trade places with him in a heartbeat.
