Ever wonder what his movies would be like if Uwe Boll was secretly a Nazi?

Us, too.

Here’s what you might’ve missed, from around the web.

that is a tiny damn cat

- The MPAA may have sorta, kinda been lying through their rotten f*cking teeth ‘made a human error’ when they said 44% of the industry’s domestic losses were from college downloading. Turns out it’s only 15%. That’s a mistake you can make, right? Right? Guys?

- Speaking of money, Steve Jobs better get to work building his money bin (ala McDuck): Apple just posted the best profits they’ve ever turned in the history of the company. Fun fact: they actually sold almost as many iPhones as they did computers last year. iPod revenue actually grew faster than unit sales.

- Here’s a picture of a straight razor made out of a circuit board.

ow

- More fun stuff: In 1935, there was a caterpillar-treaded ferry in England. Apparently it ran between Devonshire and the Burgh Islands, a quarter mile out to sea. Kind of nifty, but man, I bet that thing did not feel that sturdy. (Then again, it’s only a quarter of a mile.)

- This could be fun: a solar-powered USB dock, for recharging things on the go, that doubles as a Nintendo emulator. $120. Buy one now before it vanishes forever! (Seriously, if this thing does well, I’d say you can count on Nintendo going after it.)

- Ys I & II are being rereleased for the DS in Japan. I think I am finally going to have to give in and learn to read Japanese. I thought it was bad enough when the Japanese got Famista DS and we didn’t (for the record, that’s a baseball game - probably one of the most fun ones to date), and obviously there’s reasons that Jump Ultimate Stars couldn’t be translated, but damn it all - apparently I’m going to have to learn to read their squiggle-language. Anyone got pointers? Tips? A good resource? If this were college I’d just take Japanese I, but that is not gonna be an option these days.

- And, last but not least, SMB 1-1 is in Smash Brothers - oh, and occasionally, SMB 1-2. Completely redone with modern graphics (apparently Peach gave up on this far-flung corner of her kingdom, as it’s now a ruin), you can now play in these leisurely-scrolling stages. No word on what happens if it gets to the end of the stage.

Tonight, it’s back into the studio for us to record The Rooster Block. Woohoo!

  1. Lucas Says:

I took Jap 1 at NKU, first you need to determine the style of japanese because they have more than one. The basic one I learned Hiragana isn’t used too much, but in Jap II I would have learned Katakana which is supposedly the most widely used style. and in fact I still have my book and workbook if you really would like to learn both styles. They used the same books in I and II and I wouldn’t have been able to sell my book back so I kept it and the workbook.
