Missed Marketing Opportunity (by Greg)

Missed Marketing Opportunity

Created by Strip Generator…or was it the government???

For all the product placement that Cloverfield contained, the one piece of marketing they missed out on was for the impossibly sturdy Handicam that documented the whole thing! Not only did the battery last through the entire ordeal, (somewhere around 8-10 hours counting the party before the carnage), it continued to record beautifully despite repeated dropping, running, explosions, monster attacks, and TOTAL CITY DESTRUCTION. It is, by far, the most impressive piece of electronic engineering I’ve ever seen, and their failure to capitalize on this has surely cost them millions. I want one for my very own, and I want a New York Football Giant to sell it to me.

Oh well, maybe that’s what they have planned for the Super Bowl.

By the by, since my voice has not been heard on the issue, I thoroughly enjoyed Cloverfield from beginning to end.  I got exactly what I was looking for, which was a movie with very little information about the monster which simply had the characters trying to live.  I wanted Try To Live: The Movie, and I received it as if I had put it on my Amazon Wish List and opened it excitedly Christmas morn’.  It also helped that I am not prone to motion sickness and therefore could watch it in its entirety without having to constantly look away from the impressive destruction.  I could speak more on it but Will and Phil have pretty much covered things so I’ll leave it at that.

My computer at home is still broken so I stayed late at work tonight to finish this comic and post.  I hope you appreciate it, but I know you won’t.  :P

Here’s to not being motion sick!

Also, I want this handicam. I will buy 3. I am easily swayed by the power of personality, even if the celebrity in question only marginally has one.

Actually, I forgot to mention this: you may or may not know that all the Cloverfield characters have Myspace pages, right?

Someone edited Hud’s to list his height as 2′6″.
